David Gilbert Thompkins, 66, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 30, 2005. David Gilbert Thompkins was born to Helen Belle Thompkins and David Albert Thompkins in Pittsburgh, PA. David served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after two tours in Germany. His passion was Mercedes Benz automobiles, and was the founder of Starlite Classics in Wilkinsburg, PA before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1990. He was an avid horticulturist and was known as a good friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Thompkins; his sons: Carter, Curtis, and Carroll Thompkins of Dallas, Tulsa, and New York, respectively; his siblings, Shirley Higginbotham of NY, Jerry Thompkins of Bushkill, NY; and numerous family members around the United States. He will be missed by all. The family of Mr. Thompkins will be reflecting on his life with a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel on Wednesday, August 3, 2005.
