Janice F. Metheney, 66 of Rio Rancho, died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at her home. Janice was born in Deep Water, WV, January 3, 1939. She had lived in the Albuquerque, NM area for the past 24 years. Janice was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin H. Metheney and her mother, Minnie Metheney of Deep Water, WV. Janice is survived by her daughter, Jane L. Gillespie and her husband, Robert S. Gillespie of Shawnee, KS; her sons, Michael B. Metheney and his wife, Donna C. Metheney of Quartz Hill, CA, and Joseph D. Metheney and his wife, Lisa Metheney of Lees Summit, MO. She had seven grandchildren, Brynn, Lauren, Ellen, Ryan, Michael, Andrea and Matthew. Janice is also survived by her three sisters, Virginia Anders and her husband, Fred, Betty Goehring and her husband, Hank, and Jean Yurich; two brothers, Hansel Brown and wife, Lefia and Jack Metheney and wife, Kathy. She also had many nieces and nephews. Janice was formerly a Senior import/export analyst at Transcore in Albuquerque for 15 years. She was a member of Hoffmantown West Church where she served faithfully in the children's ministry for many years. Janice was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan, loved reading and traveling, but most of all, cared deeply for her family and friends. To remember and celebrate Janice, all Services will be held at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, visitation will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 6:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following the service at the French Mortuary-Reception Center.
