Socorro Apodaca - Beloved wife, mother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, went home to be the Lord on July 25, 2005. Socorro was born on November 2, 1924. She is survived by her husband, Bert Apodaca; one brother, Dolores Romero; two sisters, Nancy Sandoval and Eloisa Padilla; five daughters, Gloria Martinez, Trini Romero, MaryLou Martinez, Rose Zambrano and Claudina Zambrano; two sons, David Maldonado and Joe Maldonado; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. A visitation for Socorro will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Garcia Mortuary Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Lucy Sanchez. A final visitation will be Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd SW with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Principal Celebrant will be Father Joe Vigil. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery following the Mass. Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Pineda, Mateo Sedillo, George Fresquez, Christopher Fuentes, David Zambrano Jr., Jeffrey Maldonado, David Maldonado Jr., and James Montoya.
