Obituary for STOCKDALE

Donna Jean (Wagoner) Stockdale, 71, died on April 23, 2005. She was born July 27, 1933 in Waterford, OH to Harold and Madge Sprague. She earned a B.S. in Education from Ohio University in 1968 and an M.S. in Special Education in 1972 from the University of New Mexico. She taught and raised her family in Albuquerque, NM from 1958 to 1980. From 1980 until retirement in 1997 she worked for Crowley Public Schools in Texas. In 1997 she married Fred Stockdale and in 2001 the couple moved to Tulsa to be near her grandchildren. Donna was an ordained elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church when in Albuquerque. Despite serious illness, she spent her last year working with the Society of Saint Giles helping disabled transition from nursing homes to independent living. Donna was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jean Ann Wagoner. She is survived by her husband, Fred Stockdale of Tulsa; son, David Wagoner, wife Cicely Hand and Cicely's son Brian Hanford of San Rafael, CA; daughter, Cynthia Webb, husband Rev. William Webb Jr. and children Katie and Alex of Tulsa; brother, Rev Budd Sprague and wife Carol of Canton, OH; sister, Leila Norris and husband Robert of Albuquerque, NM; Fred's children: son, Steve Stockdale and his daughter Stacy of Dallas, TX; son, Michael Stockdale and wife Kay of Gilbert, AZ; daughter, Lizann Bridges, husband Tom and daughters Jessica and Britni of Bridgeport, TX; ex-husband and friend, Alan Wagoner and wife Helen of Albuquerque. Donna's zest for life and faith will remain an inspiration to all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be held in Albuquerque on July 23, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
