Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday July 22, 2005

Armando Panebouef came into the world on June 18, 1925. He left it on July 15, 2005. He lived his 80 years bursting with life. Armando was a man who no matter where he went, he could always make a friend. Born in Vaughn, New Mexico he left his home town to serve his country. He spent four years in the Army and was a veteran of WWII. He settled in Albuquerque, but spent his life on the road. A salesman of all sorts, he made his way back and forth across the Southwest too many times to count. In every town, in every store he called on, he always knew your name and he always called you friend. Armando loved people. He loved to tell jokes and make people laugh; always the life of the party, you could count on him to bring a smile to any room he entered. For him, life was about people, those he knew and those he loved and those he had yet to meet. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Connie; His son, Ron and wife, Vivian; daughter, Karen Buckholtz and husband, Clayton Broadnax; daughter, Debra Widmer and husband, Phillip; grandchildren, Angie Romero and husband, Thomas, Brandi Phlieger and husband, Michael, Nicole and Christopher Widmer, Kemen and Seber Panebouef; great-grandchildren, Kiera Sanchez, Skyler Romero, Kenyan and Rowan Phlieger; brother, Daniel Panebouef; sister, Adelina Wade; and many, many more beloved family members and friends.
