Robert A. Levin passed away peacefully in his sleep early Tuesday morning, July 19, 2005. He was born on July 24, 1919 in Ogdensburg, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; and daughter, Betsy. He is survived by his son, David Levin and David's wife, Sandy Murdock; and his daughter, Rachel Levin. He has many loving grandchildren, Shane Thompson and his wife, Jennifer, Anna, Nick, Peter, and Abby Levin; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Dakota Thompson. Bob and Kay raised their children in Evanston, IL, and then moved to a farm in Cleveland, WI. Bob moved to Albuquerque in October, 1991, two years after his wife's death, and has been active in New Mexico civic life since then. Bob's journey through the end of life process was greatly assisted by many people, especially his large family of friends in the Jewish community and the Presbyterian Hospice Group, and the family thanks them all. A Memorial Service will be held at Nahalot Shalom, 3606 Rio Grande NW, Albuquerque, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2005 followed by a celebration of his life and 86th birthday at his home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests individual contributions of any kind to progressive issues and causes in the furtherance of the peace he prayed for.
