Cheryl Darlene Emmons August 20, 1948 - July 12, 2005 Cheryl, 56, of Aumsville, OR, died Tuesday at Salem Hospital. She was born in Tacoma, WA, the daughter of John and Gladys (Ferrans) Rusen. She was raised in Oregon, primarily in Riddle and Portland. She married Irvin Emmons in Portland on May 6, 1967. The couple settled in Albuquerque, NM, for 14 years during his military retirement and then moved to Aumsville in 1999. She was a loving "Nana" to her ten grandchildren. She volunteered with Job's Daughters and Boy Scouts, while her children were younger. Cheryl was a nurse, collected dolls and enjoyed cross-stitching. Cheryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Stayton Ward, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, Amaranth and White Shrine. Family members who survive include her husband, Major Irvin Emmons, USAF (Ret) of Aumsville; daughter, Danielle Nowell of Albany, OR; sons, Christopher Emmons of Albany and John Emmons of Albuquerque; brother, Jack Rusen of Albany; sister, Rita McQueary of Albany; aunt and uncle, Val and Bill Ferrans of Gresham; and ten grandchildren, including Tyler, Patrick, Kassandra, Kimberly, Brandon, Dharma, Catie, David, Janel and Shelby. A private Family Graveside Service will be held. Interment will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Albany, OR. Memorials may be given to the Aumsville Rural Fire District, P.O.
