Obituary for CLIFFORD

Harry Jerome Clifford, a devoted husband and wonderful father, passed away peacefully at home in the embrace of his loving family, Sunday, July 10, 2005. Harry was born in El Paso, TX, April 11, 1913 the first child of Plato (Kasserman) Clifford and Emily R. Bolgiano. Harry grew up in Ysleta, TX where his family had a dairy and cotton farm. Harry was a Windmiller before WWII. Harry was a basic training officer for the 137th Ordinance Company during WWII but was transferred out to the Pacific Theater while they went to Europe. Harry attained the rank of Captain serving his country. Harry settled with his young family in Albuquerque in 1950 opening an office for Hunter Hayes Elevator Company. He was a member of the 137th Ordinance Association and attended their reunions, American Legion Post 49 and the Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Alene C. Clifford; beloved children, Harry J. Clifford and wife, Shirley of Los Alamos, William P. Clifford of Rio Rancho, James E. Clifford of Rincon Montoso, NM and Tricia A. Sandoval of Weston, CO; five precious grandchildren, Judith M. Clifford, Harry J. Clifford III, both of Las Vegas, NV, Marisa V. Sandoval, P. Aidan Sandoval and Micaela E. Sandoval, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Larry M. Clifford and wife, Donna of Paradise, CA and Ferrell S. Clifford and wife, Barbara of El Paso, TX; and many nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Fred and Edmond Clifford; and sister, Hazel Henderson. Graveside Services were held Thursday, 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
