Obituary for MONTOYA

ROSE B. MONTOYA, 83, a 55 year resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2005. She passed away after a long and severe two year battle with pelvic cancer. Rose's life embodied courage, strength, commitment, and independence. Rose was born May 23, 1922 in Cuba, NM, to Valentin and Sophronia (Montoya) Ce De Baca. She grew up in The Great Depression and WWII era. She was retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools. Rose is survived by her son, Fred B. Serda; grandchildren, Jarrett and Jayson Serda; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Jayson Serda Jr., she had a special relationship with her half-sister, Alicia. The family wishes to thank the Lovelace Hospice Team for their direction, personal assistance, training, care, kindness, support, pain management at home, as well as health care aid during Rose's final months and days. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Times and dates are pending. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to Cancer Research.
