Obituary for LUTRICK

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday July 10, 2005

Robert "Bob" Edward Lutrick, 69, of Estancia, NM passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM after a brief struggle with cancer, with his loving family around him. Bob was born on August 9, 1935 in Lakeview, TX to John Adam and Nita (Pipken) Lutrick. On August 14, 1953, he married Pearlene Waller in Ft. Sumner, NM. They resided in Abernathy, TX until 1958 when they moved to Scholle, NM where they ranched until 1963 when they moved to Estancia, NM. Bob farmed, ranched, and owned various businesses there. The latest business was The Old Mill Restaurant where he and Pearlene worked side-by-side while serving and visiting with all their customers - their friends. In the last few weeks those who loved Bob, which was all that knew him, wondered how his eyes could still sparkle so radiantly; how his body, inhabited by pain, could keep smiling, and how his heart could continue to pump love, and strength, and joy through all of us. The answer is that a life of such beauty and joy, courage and love cannot be contained in a body. A life of beauty, love, and courage goes on forever. Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Pearlene; daughters, D'rese and her husband Allen Sutherland of Aztec, NM, Lynn and her husband Joe Chacon of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Johna Lutrick of Estancia, NM, Bobbi Gail and her husband Vince Giblin of San Antonio, TX; only son, Bo and his wife Susan of Portales, NM; mother, Nita Overton of Lubbock, TX; sister, Nita Beth Lee of Lubbock, TX; brothers, Gene and his wife Merle of Dell City, TX, and Buddy and his wife Barbara of Floydada, TX; grandchildren, Bobby and his wife Heather Sutherland, Amanda, Jake, Paige, Shane, Miguel, Gina, Chris, Kyle, and Cole; and great-grandchildren, Autumn, Dylan, Hallie, Maggie, and Alexis. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Estancia in Estancia, NM. Pastor Eric Turner will be officiating. Pallbearers will be all his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his lifelong friends and his friends from The Old Mill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bob Lutrick Memorial Ag Scholarship fund at the First State Bank in Moriarty, NM.
