Obituary for BURSON

Cecil Leo Burson, age 66, of Flora Vista, NM passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at his daughter's home in Aztec, NM following a lengthy illness. He was born June 21, 1939, to Harvey Burson and Avis Oleta Bryson in Armijo, NM. Cecil was preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda; his parents; one son, Ronald Burson; and brother, Paul Burson. Cecil is survived by his son, Randy Burson; daughters, Debbie Hardin and husband, Scott, and Kim Martin and husband, Jerry; brother, Dick Burson and wife, Ginger; and sisters, Altha Bell Smith, Rosie Cox, and Eva Smith and husband, Bob. Cecil is also survived by five loving grandchildren. Cecil lived in San Juan County for over 36 years. He loved to jet ski and go camping. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Pipe fitters Union 412. A public viewing for Cecil will be held Friday, July 8, 2005 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Aztec, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2005 at Sunrise Funeral Options/East in Albuquerque, NM, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, followed by burial at the Fairview Memorial Cemetery, 700 Yale Blvd. SE Albuquerque, NM. Pastor Rod Conover is officiating pastor for service. Time of service is at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Pete Hahn, Darrell Smith, Doug Smith, Terry Cox, Paul Cox, and Coleman Burson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Danny Israel, Steve Israel, Cassandra Martin, Aaron Hardin and Coleman Martin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
