Dennis A. Perea, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went home with the Lord Friday, June 24, 2005, after 54 years. Dennis was a member of the United States Armed Forces in the US Navy serving during Vietnam, 1971 - 1974. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Perea Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Antonio Perea Sr. and Rosella; his maternal grandmother, Rufina Herrera. Dennis is survived by his son, Mark Perea of Albuquerque; daughter, Christine Perea and husband Joe of Bernalillo; two grandchildren, Nicolas and Monique; his mother, Annie J. Perea; his sisters, Lorraine and husband Frank Luna, Diana Perea, Lillian Perea; his brother, Alex Perea; his aunts, Sally Hoffman and husband David, and Millie Candelaria; his uncle, Filiberto Perea; five nephews; two nieces; many great-nieces and -nephews, all of Albuquerque. Services will be held at San Jose de Duranes Mission, 2110 Los Luceros Rd NW, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Alex Perea, Mark Perea, Andrew Perea, Damian Luna, Chris Luna and Jeremiah O'Connell. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Luna, Diego Miera, Patrick Candelaria Sr., Fil Chavez Jr., Lawrence Candelaria and Larry Miera.
