Abel Baca, age 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gertrud. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Chavez and husband Gilbert and Heidi Mueller and husband Wayne, all of Albuquerque; two Grandchildren, Anthony and Ashley Chavez; two sisters, Evangeline Bojorquez , Viola Garcia and husband William; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Baca was born in Belen. He served in the Army during World War II where he met his future wife Gertrud. He continued his hobby of farming until his early 80s after retiring from the Veterans hospital. His family would like to remember him by his kind loving spirit, and good wholesome values. The Rosary will be held Wednesday June 22, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 23, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Burial will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
