John J. Hanzel, 82, died May 20, 2005 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Hanzel was born on September 13, 1922 to Joseph and Frances Hanzel in Johnstown, PA. He was a 33-year employee of Albuquerque Public Schools as a teacher and administrator. Mr. Hanzel retired in 1984 as Principal of Wilson Junior High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Frances, two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his son, John Francis; two grandchildren, Holly and John; his brothers Joseph, Ladislaus, and his sister, Theresa Gorman. A Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 28, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parrish in Albuquerque, NM.
