She and her husband were affiliated with the La Mesa Methodist Church. In 2000, she and her husband relocated to Rio Rancho to be near their daughter and took up residence in the Acantilado Vista retirement community. She remained active at her sewing machine working on various quilting and sewing projects and became noted for the one-of-a-kind tote bags she created for friends and craft fairs. Until her recent illness she also enjoyed reading, visiting with friends, playing board games, and keeping up with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Bert E. and Winifred Denman Morton; her brothers, Dr. john Morton and Bob Morton; her granddaughter, Laura; and by nephews Denman Morton and Glenn Morton.
