THOMAS MOORE WADE, a high profile leader in the security industry, passed away on May 6, 2005, in Plano, TX. He was born March 10, 1963, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Michael and Mary Elizabeth Wade. Thomas grew up in Albuquerque, NM and then moved to the Dallas area. Mr. Wade founded GVI Security in 2000 and served as its President and Chief Executive Officer, as well as a member of its board. He had 20 years of experience in the security industry, including positions in senior sales management at National Guardian and Director of Sales at Ultrak. Thomas served on the Board of Directors of the Security Industry Association, where he played a critical role in shaping the future of the Association's agenda for homeland security. Due to his phenomenal success at GVI, he was nominated entrepreneur of the year in 2004. In keeping with his entrepreneurial spirit, Thomas had recently started a new company, Emerging Technologies which specializes in web-based security solution. He enjoyed scuba diving, sailing, boating, and going to the ocean. He is survived by his parents; his wife of 16 years, Patti Wilson Wade; children, Michael Padraig Wade II, Katherine Elizabeth Wade, and Sarah Kaythryn Glenn; brother, Stephen Wade and wife, Kris and their daughter, Rileigh; sister, Caroline Blankenship and husband, Dale; father-in-law, James B. Wilson; brothers-in-law, James Wilson and wife, Tess and their sons, Taylor, Jared, and Colin Wilson, and Mark Wilson and wife, Ellen and their children, Wes and Anna Wilson; and his dog, Mask. A Celebration of Thomas' Life will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2005, at 4:00 p.m., at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel. If desired, memorials may be made to Roses 2000.
