Obituary for HINSON

James S. Hinson, age 77, of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home in his sleep on May 6, 2005. He was born February 23, 1928 in Jonesboro, Ark. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Bonnie; son, Phillip and his companion, Diana Moser of Albuquerque; daughters, Suzanne Hinson of Ruidoso and Pamela Baker of Tijeras; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Marsh of Jonesboro, Ark. and Judy Watkins of Bono, Ark. Jim was a long time member of Sandia Baptist Church, where he and Bonnie developed many lasting friendships. His family is comforted to know that he is now at home with Jesus, free of pain. Jim attended Philadelphia School and Jonesboro High School where he played football and basketball and graduated in 1946. After high school, he went on to Arkansas University for two years and played football. After leaving college, Jim joined the Military services, serving in the Special Forces and then the US Army Reserves. His service to his country lasted 37 years. His work career spanned over 42 years with Sandia National Labs, retiring in 1993. After retirement, he and Bonnie loved to travel with their RV group and have many lasting memories and stories of the fun they had. For many years, Jim and Bonnie and Phil and Diana went to the Lobo football games and they also enjoyed Lobo basketball. He loved life and had many friends who will miss him greatly. Cremation has taken place and interment of his cremated remains will be at a later date in Arkansas. Memorial Services will be Wednesday, May 11, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE with Dr. Robert Butler officiating.
