Mildred "Mila" 1926-2005 Mildred "Mila" Canon, 78, a resident of Tome, NM (formerly of Rowe Mesa and Las Vegas), passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2005. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Jack Lowell Canon of Rowe Mesa, NM; her parents, George and Malvina Fidel of Las Vegas; brother, Leo Paul Fidel of Las Vegas; sisters, Gloria May Ortega of Long Beach, CA, Angela Fidel of Las Vegas, and Victoria Fidel of Las Vegas. Mildred is survived by her son, Wayne Canon and his wife, Lea of Adelino; daughter, Malvina "Mal" Tolman and her husband, Wesley of Rowe Mesa; grandchildren, Jeremy and Brittany Tolman, Chelsea, Chance, and Casey Canon; sisters, Mary and her husband, Joe Hanosh of Rio Rancho, Adelina and her husband, Elfigo Carabajal of Bosque Farms; brother, George Fidel of Las Vegas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday May 11, 2005 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 07 North Church Loop in Tome, NM with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday May 12, 2005 also at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday May 13, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Wayne Canon, Chance Canon, Wesley Tolman, Jeremy Tolman, James Carabajal, and Joe Fidel. Honorary pallbearer will be George Fidel. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Home, 418 W. Reinken in Belen.
