Obituary for MELANCON

Helen Evelyn, 86, born on October 28, 1918 in St. David, AZ. She passed away Sunday, April 24, 2005, in Dallas, TX, surrounded by her loving family, after complications from an aneurysm. She married Nichols L. Melancon, Jr. on April 13, 1935. They spent 60 wonderful years together before his passing in May, 1995. She worked at Sandia National Labs as an accountant from 1951 until her retirement in 1979. After retirement she loved cooking, entertaining, sewing, gardening, and traveling. She is survived by two sons, Nichols Melancon III of Prairieville, LA, Patrick K. and wife, Suzanne of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She loved and lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to have known her. Graveside Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
