Obituary for SMITH

Mary E. Smith, C.S.T., 62, died at home on Sunday, April 10, 2005. Mary is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard "Rick" Smith of Albuquerque; two sons, Richard B. Smith, Jr. and wife, Rebecca of Annapolis, MD and Raymond J. Smith of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Rachel Smith; sister, Barbara Hagon and husband, Michael Wauwatosa, WA; brother, Robert L. Ferry and wife, Anita of Vermont. Mrs. Smith worked in the medical field as a certified surgical technologist for 43 years, with the last 19 of those at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Mary served our country in the U.S. Air Force and also was a photography model. Her interests included collecting antiques and old model trains. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Toy Train Operating Society. In her leisure time she enjoyed oil and charcoal painting. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 18, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. at the University of New Mexico Hospital Learning Center, 2nd floor near the Ambulatory Care Center with Chaplin Dave M. Hartenberger, D. Min. Please park at the South parking structure, walk over Lomas on the pedestrian bridge, and proceed to the second floor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sculpture Garden of Healing, c/o Chris Fenton, Development Officer, University of New Mexico Hospital, 2211 Lomas Blvd. NE, 87106.
