Obituary for ROSS

William Edmund Ross, 77, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2005 in Lovelace Medical Center following a short illness. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Ewing of San Antonio, TX; sons, Bruce Ross and wife, Janice of Albuquerque, Michael Ross and wife, Candie of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Jacob, Rebecca, and Sarah Ross, and Brooke Ewing; a brother, Larry Ross and wife, Darla of Albuquerque; a niece, Sharlene Ross of Dallas, TX; nephew, Ryan Ross and wife, Sara and great-niece, Kathryn Ross of Albuquerque; loving friend and companion, Marilyn Wilson and her daughters, Julie Wilson and Jamie Yoder, and son, Todd Wilson. Bill was born in Santa Fe, NM on February 8, 1928. He graduated from Taos High School, received his B.A. Degree from the University of New Mexico, where he played Lobo basketball and football. He taught science and coached sports at Taos High School, and served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy for four years. After serving in the Navy, William was a project engineer with North American Aviation for several years. He then moved to Albuquerque and went into the motel business and real estate until he retired. He enjoyed social dancing, sports, and the outdoors. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 49, and the Bear Canyon Senior Center in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Cecil Ross of Taos, and Jason Ross, his nephew, of Albuquerque. Cremation has taken place; his ashes will be spread on his favorite mountain peak near Taos. In lieu of flowers, please make donations payable to the American Lung Association of New Mexico in respect to his passing.
