MATIAS E. ARMIJO, age 69, of Santa Fe, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 7, 2005. Matias was born February 10, 1936, the son of Jose and Eufrosina Armijo who preceded him in death. He married Sadie Roybal-Armijo in Santa Fe. He was employed as the State Park Ranger at Hyde Memorial State Park for over 35 years, retiring in 1988. Matias was also a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, La Union Protectiva, and American Quarter Horse Association. Matias loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an avid accomplished horseman and trainer who loved riding near the foothills of Santa Fe. He will be remembered as a loving father, brother, and friend to many, who will be dearly missed. May he rest in eternal peace. He is survived by his loving wife, Sadie M. Armijo; beloved sons: Anthony M. Armijo and Debra Montgomery, Mark A. Armijo and wife, Brenda; grandchildren: Casey N. Armijo and Wyatt Matthew Armijo; brothers and sisters: Irene Gonzales and husband, Jose Alfonso, Eddie A. Armijo and wife, Elsie; mother-in-law, Lisaida Roybal; in-laws: Joaquin and wife, Lilly Casaus, Emilio and wife, Lorraine Romero, Robert and wife, Priscilla Ramirez, Samuel G. and wife, Patsy Roybal, Edna and husband, Gilbert Romero, Theresa and husband, Jake Anaya, Roberta Chavez; and numerous other families and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Joaquin Casaus, Charlie Herrera, Eddie Armijo, Jose Alfonso Gonzales, Ray Ortiz, Leo Leyba, and Sammy Roybal. Honorary pallbearers will be C.T. Maes, Godson, Tino Sanchez, Mark Armijo, and Anthony Armijo. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 12, 2005, 5:00 p.m. where a rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery.
