Obituary for TURNER

Walter Jack Turner, 82, formerly of the Tularosa and Oscura area, passed away March 27, 2005. Jack was the surviving son of the eleven children born to Walter Hill Turner and Martha Hallie Ganaway. Jack was born in Lamesa, Dawson County, TX, December 17, 1922. Jack and his wife Ruby moved to Albuquerque in May of 2003. Jack was a U.S. Naval Veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, serving on the USS New Orleans. He was a life member of VFW Post 7686 in Alamogordo, NM and was the owner of Blue Line Construction in Tularosa for many years. His son, Jerry Hill Turner preceded him in death. In addition to his wife of 58 years, Ruby Landsaw Turner, he is survived by his son, Jay and wife Beverly, of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Melanie, Amber, Zack, and Casey; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Interment will take place at a private service in Santa Fe at the National Cemetery.
