Obituary for WEBSTER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday March 29, 2005

William W. Webster, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Lisa; children, Amy Hinnerichs and husband, Todd, and granddaughter-to-be, Reese, and Burke Webster; father, Bill Webster; brother, Jim Webster and wife, Kathy, of Fayetteville, AR; nieces, Kerry Gobel and Becky Webster and aunts, Joy Webster and Betty Ann Henry and uncle, Ben Henry. Bill was a lifelong civil engineer who enjoyed the engineering profession, the challenges, the people and the excitement of turning ideas into reality. Never liking "good enough" he set exacting standards for himself that became lofty goals for others to aspire to in their professional and personal lives. He stood for what he believed was right and was uncompromising when it came to ideals. His engineering career achievements included managing engineering offices in Albuquerque, NM, Dallas, TX, and Las Vegas, NV sitting on Board of Directors and management committees of Boyle Engineering and in local and national professional organizations, being honored as a Fellow of American Council of Engineering Companies, raising his employer's Quality and Standards program to a new sustainable high, and master planning, engineering and building water systems across New Mexico, Texas and Nevada. No subject was too complex for his inquisitive and creative mind and his peers and management readily sought his counsel. Not only did he love to work, he loved to play. He was a season football and basketball Lobo ticket holder, graduate and supporter of UNM, and always in the company of family and friends. He was extremely proud of Lisa, his wife, and his children, Burke and Amy, and son-in-law, Todd. Many of his best times were sharing his time with Lisa and his kids on cruises and vacations. His wide circle of friends and family will miss him. Services will be held Thursday, March 31, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating. Friends may visit Tuesday, March 29, 2005, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Mexico Engineering Foundation, P.O. Box 3828, Albuquerque, NM 87190. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
