Helen McIntyre, 95, died March 20, 2005, at Manzano del Sol Care Center. She was born February 14, 1910 in Peoria, IL. Helen was retired from the University of New Mexico Library. She and Theresa Gillett, another UNM librarian now deceased, were instrumental in starting the annual book sale for the Albuquerque Public Library and did all the pricing and sorting of the donated books for many years. They also set up the library at the Manzano del Sol Apartments. She was a long time member of First Congregational Church and a life member of Albuquerque Chapter of AAUW. She contributed to the building of Manzano del Sol and was in the first group of residents to move in there 25 years ago. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Manzano del Sol, 5201 Roma, NE. Memorial gifts may be made to First Congregational Church 2801 Lomas, NE, 87106.
