Obituary for MCILROY

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday March 23, 2005

Marilyn Janet McIlroy, of Corrales, passed away suddenly on March 13, 2005. She is survived be her life partner, Jake McGuffin; sister, Elaine (Norman) Gilbreath of Aztec, NM; brother Ron (Dixie) McIlroy of Burnsville, MN; nephew, Tracy; nieces, Kathy, Leslie, and Erin; great-nieces, January, Daisha, and Cherish; great-great nephews, Cade, L.J., and Cole; and Jake's family, Andrea, Chaz, and Kylie. She was born in Childress, TX March 17, 1945. After growing up in McLean, TX, she attended Abilene Christian College and moved to Albuquerque upon graduation. After spending many years on the corporate world, she found her true calling working as an aide to her elderly clients. Marilyn was an outstanding cook and avid gardener, but mostly she was the world's greatest aunt, making each niece and nephew always feel that they had a very special relationship with her. She was also a true friend who was always there for her family. It is hard to imagine a world without Marilyn in it. Final goodbyes were said 11:00 a.m., March 17, 2005, at Direct Funeral Services.
