Thelma Foster Simons, beloved mother, passed away in Albuquerque, Tuesday, March 15, 2005, after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Charles B. Simons, Jr. and his wife, Rose Day; daughter, Charlene Simons and daughter, Renee Simons Martinez and husband, Danny; grandchildren, Jenny Plakio, Sarah Simons, Meghan Martinez, Ryan Martinez, Patrick Day, and Michael Day; step-grandchildren, Sheri Kraemer and husband, Wolfgang and Sheri's children, Brad Hudgeons, Jason Yeitrakis, and Tiffany Yeitrakis, Casey McCabe and her daughter, Bryn McCabe-Kelly, Jay McCabe, Cameron Cunningham and Kathy Cunningham and her great-grandchild, Morgan Plakio; sisters, Bertha Mary McFadden, Charlene Foster and Carol Hargett; brother, Paul Foster and wife, Thelma; and sister-in-law, Edith Simons. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Simons, Sr.; her brothers, Harold Foster, Gerald Foster and Wayne Foster; and stepdaughters, Constance Cunningham and husband, Kay and Ellen McCabe and husband, Jack. She was born to George K. and Lulu Foster in Greeley County, KS, October 1, 1919. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital Medical Records 26 years; upon retirement, she cared for her grandchildren whom she adored and who adored her. A light meal will be provided at the church for family and friends at 11:00 a.m. Services will be held Monday, 12:00 noon, at University Heights United Methodist Church, 2210 Silver SE, with Pastor Craig Mull officiating. Interment will take place, 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 8100 Mountain Rd.
