Obituary for SAAVEDRA

Herman E. Saavedra, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was born December 7, 1946. He passed away Sunday, March 13, 2005. Herman was the owner and operator of Barcelona Tree Services, an expert tree care and landscaping service. He was an assistant with the cub scouts, and enjoyed fishing, camping and outdoor activities. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary Saavedra of the family home in Albuquerque; one daughter, Lisa Griego and husband Anthony of Belen; one son, Herman Saavedra Jr and wife Brandie of Albuquerque; his mother, Anita Saavedra of Rio Rancho; three grandsons, Damien, Sabastian and Demitrii; four brothers, Lorenzo Casias and wife Rachel of California, Willie Casias and wife Angie of Los Lunas, Pete Casias of Texas, Gilbert Casias and wife Lorie of California; two sisters, Isabel Saavedra and Lala Griego both of Rio Rancho; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel on Thursday, March 17, 2005. The viewing will begin at 9:30am, followed by the funeral service at 10:00am. Chaplain Larry Wills will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Robert Sandusky, Bill Casias, Larry Saavedra, Julian Sisneros, Ryan Winters, and Ben “Broken” Quesenberry serving as pallbearers.
