Obituary for DUSSAIR

Vincent S. Dussair passed away at age 93 on March 8, 2005 in Houston, TX. He was born in Evanston, IL on August 13, 1911 to Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Dussair. He married Margaret Gibbs in Caney, KS in 1937. They were residents of Albuquerque for 44 years before moving to the Clarewood Retirement Home in Houston. Vincent was blessed with many talents and used them as a teacher, musician, and preacher and, in earlier life, as an athlete. He held both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in music education, with his primary instrument the clarinet. During his career he taught instrumental music on the Jr. High, High School, and Jr. College level. He taught band and orchestra in the Albuquerque Public Schools for 18 years. Along with his public school teaching he also directed many church choirs. He held a local preacher's license from the Methodist Church for many years beginning in 1947 in Kansas and served many churches throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Kent Dussair and wife, Linda of Houston; his daughter, Diane and husband, Dan Cunningham of Austin, TX; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. Dwight Dussair and his wife, Merceda of Lenexa, KS. Vincent and Margaret enjoyed many friends and activities in Albuquerque, including their affiliation with Trinity United Methodist Church and many years with the Dessert Swingers square dance club. Vincent spent the last two years of his life sharing his personal ministry with his family and friends.
