Obituary for REINIER

Frederick Dale Reinier, 83, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Thrall, TX. He was born May 19, 1921 to Edna Mae (Starling) and Raymond Lawrence Reinier in Monte Vista, CO and was raised in "The Valley" area of Colorado. Fred started his communications career with the CCC at the North Camp of Mesa Verde, CO, putting in communication lines. He then worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company. In June of 1942 he married Author Burns Wilson in El Paso, TX. Fred served in the Navy during World War II, serving with the A Company 76th Battalion Seabees. After the war he continued his career with Mountain Bell, retiring in 1979 after forty years as a recognized Mountain Bell Telephone Pioneer. After retiring, Fred moved his family to Llano, TX where he maintained his home and small ranch for over twenty years. He moved to Williamson County in 2001. Fred was active in many organizations throughout his lifetime, including the Mason's, Eastern Star, FFA and 4-H. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, and taught De Molay. He had a great love for amateur archaeology, hunting, fishing, and camping. Fred was preceded in death by his son, Arthur Dale Reinier in February of 1992 and his beloved wife of fifty-five years in 1997. He is survived by two daughters, Daune Reinier and Butch Dennis of Thrall, TX and Happi Reinier Havel and husband, David of Hutchins, TX; sister, Cecil Teem of Alamosa, CO; brother, Robert Reinier of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, March 5, 2005 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Chapel in Llano on March 7, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., with Daisy Birchard officiating. His ashes will be interred in Uvalde, TX at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the local Hospice, FFA, or 4-H.
