Joan C. Thornton, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died Thursday February 24, 2005 at her home in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Allen Thornton of Albuquerque; daugther, Mary Elaine Thornton of Cedar Crest; daughter, Leigh Anne Ludington and husband, Wayne of Price, Utah; and son, Mark Thornton of Rio Rancho, NM. Four grandchildren, Taber Leigh Yates and husband, Chris, Tracy Leigh Ludington, Douglas Ludington and wife, Carla, and Allen Ludington. Two great-grandchildren; Alyssa Cameron Yates and Elizabeth Ann Ludington. Mr. and Mrs. Thornton would have celebrated 56 years in April of this year. Joan was a member of St. Matthews and St. Mary's Episcopal Church. She was active in the St. Elizabeth's guild for many years. Mrs. Thornton was a member of Ko Shari Garden Club. She graduated from Stephen's College in Missouri. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1500 Chelwood Park Blvd. NE, at 1:00 p.m., with Father Robert Nagiel officiating.
