Dale O. Cook, 88, longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 of a peaceful death in a Houston hospital. His wife of 50 years, Mary and a son, David predeceased him. Daughter KarenMarie of Houston, Margaret Gurule, daughter, grandson son Michael Gurule, and Ruth Cook, sister of Albuquerque survive him. He recently moved to Houston with Karen. He is a long time member of Holy Ghost Catholic parish, was member of St. Vincent DePaul, was active in the Democratic party in the 1980s, and member of Albuquerque Merchant Marine Association. He was a college graduate and had worked as a carpenter, as an electrician on ships, and at Sandia in varied positions, including data processing and computer programmer in the 1950s and 1960s. He also worked at Los Alamos as an electrician. He lived at Casa Maria Alzheimer's Center for two years. He had been a member of the carpenters' and electricians' union and a Knight of Columbus in the past. Bob Bustos, Guardianships of New Mexico and Charles Reynolds Attorney, had been former guardian and Conservator. A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.. A Rosary will be held on Monday, February 28, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Parish, with Father Tom Mayesfske officiating. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE 842-8800
