Obituary for BEASLEY

Walter Beasley, 82, passed away on February 22, 2005. Mr. Beasley was born in London, England, immigrated to Canada, then moved to Albuquerque with his wife in 1963. He was a devoted member of St. Marks on the Mesa, and served as a deacon and chaplain for many years. In 1961, he worked in Santiago, Chili as an aerial photographer for the earthquake disaster. He was a World War II veteran for the British military. He owned Morrow's Nut House in Winrock Center and Wally's Fish & Chips Shop in Fidelity Square. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Beasley, in 1997; a sister, Maidie Hutchins; and a brother. He is survived by two nieces and one nephew who live in England; longtime family friends, Edmund and Betty Darrow; and Alison Hale. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at St. Marks on the Mesa, 431 Richmond Place NE, with a reception to follow.
