Mary N. Chavez, "Tory" to her many friends and relatives, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, in her home, under Hospice care. She is survived by her children, Anthony N. Chavez of Albuquerque, NM and Leta M. Bishell and her husband, Bill of Blairsden, CA; her sisters, Frances S. Gomez of Santa Fe, NM, Irene M. Martinez of Chimayo, NM and Valentina Roybal of Albuquerque, NM; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Tory was preceded in death by her sisters, Rosella Miller and Aurora Baumgardner and brothers, Elijio Sena, Eloy Sena and Claude Sena. Tory was born in Nambe, New Mexico, grew up in Durango, Colorado and moved to Albuquerque as a young woman to train in secretarial school and work in downtown Albuquerque for a defense contractor. She moved to Seattle, Washington where she continued to work for Boeing Airlines. Tory returned to Albuquerque in 1982 after living in Seattle, Washington and San Anselmo, California. Tory will always be remembered for her great love for her family, her love of gardening, especially with her roses. She was also very much appreciated for her "green thumb" and her absolutely delightful sense of humor. During the past 15 years, she was an active member of Catholic Daughters. Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of choice. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300
