Gail D. Whaley, 71, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2005. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward W. Whaley of Placitas; daughter, Sandra Whaley and husband, William Bechtold of Albuquerque; son, Kyle E. Whaley and wife, Dodie of McKinney, TX. Gail was a member of Hoffmantown Church and the Christian Women's Club. She worked for many years as a certified financial planner; after her retirement, she prepared taxes at H & R Block and was active in the financial planning community. Gail graduated from Santa Fe High School attended Valparaiso University where she majored in music. She was an avid gardener and had served as secretary of the Albuquerque Rose Society. She also loved animals and was a passionate Lobo football and basketball fan. Services will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment is private. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd NE, Suite 300, 87111.
