Mike "Mountain" A. Herrera Sr., age 47, of Hatch, NM entered eternal life Monday, January 31, 2005 at his home in Albuquerque, NM. He was born October 25, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA to Michael and Nellie Herrera. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Nellie Herrera; his three daughters, Elizabeth Herrera, Darlene Reyna of Las Cruces, and Dora Castillo of Hatch; and three sons, Michael, Chris, and Carlos and wife, Veronica of Las Cruces. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Tony and Arlene Castillo, Matthew Herrera and Stephanie, Dominique and Alexis Reyna; two brothers, Eddie Herrera and David Estrada of Hatch; and his girlfriend and best friend, Lisa Hardy of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of Hatch, California, and Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Herrera; grandparents, Jacinto and Lorenza Gomez; and daughter, Arlene C. Herrera. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2005 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2005 also at Our Lord of Mercy. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Eddie Garcia, Ramon Altamirano, Primo Banegas, Robert Serna, Nacho Castaneda, and Louie Cruz.
