Obituary for MARLER

Bobby Joe Marler, 62, died unexpectedly, Saturday, January 15, 2005 at his Albuquerque home. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marjorie Marler; two daughters, Nicolette Marler and Jennifer Leahigh and husband, Mark, all of Albuquerque; son, Keith Montgomery and wife, Rachele of Kearns, UT; brother, Larry Marler and wife, Mary of Albuquerque; sister, Karen Jackson and husband, Dave of Spanaway, WA; two step-daughters, Leslie Venzuela Monaghan and husband, Dan of Albuquerque and Denise Bentley and husband, Rob of Cave Creek, AZ; and nine grandchildren, Jamie, Nicolas, Paris, Jessica, Katelyn, Christi, Brittany, Lanelle and Christopher. Bobby Joe was a man of intense passions. In addition to his focus on family and friends, he loved sports as a spectator, and as a participant. He devoted himself to coaching YAFL and Eldorado High School football, and to rounds of golf that gave him enormous joy. A seat beside Bobby Joe at a sporting event or in a golf cart always included the stories and lessons he yearned to share. A Navy veteran with service in Vietnam, he remained a committed patriot throughout his life. His family and friends will miss him forever. Services for Bobby Joe will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12701 Indian School Rd. NE, with a viewing to begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
