Lola Marguerite Skotchdopole, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born in Birmingham, AL and was raised in El Paso, TX. Lola was a real estate broker in the Los Lunas area for over 40 years and was well revered for her knowledge of the area. She was also an avid doll and antique collector. Lola loved the Lord dearly as well as spending time with her family and friends. Lola loved to dance and listen to country and sacred music. Lola was preceded in death by her mother and father, Harris Patience and Leonard William Luckett; her sister, Virginia Holtam; and her nephew, Bruce Balfour. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Henry Skotchdopole; her sister, Lillian Balfour; her children, Leonard Horne and his wife, Linda, Gayla Thomason, Mark and Dilenda Skotchdopole, all of Los Lunas, Arlene Horne, Carlton Cann, Paul and Yolanda Skotchdopole, all of Las Vegas, NM, and Tom and Linda Horne, of Austin, TX; her nephew and his wife, Phil and Marilee Holtam; her cousin, Peggy Herter; and her brother- and sister-in-law, Harry and Alene Holtam. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Emily Horne, Robbie Starkey, Jimmy and Shona Thomason, Chris Hahn, Thomas Horne, Gabe and Maia Langford, Chelsea Skotchdopole, Andrew Scott, Larry Romero, and Amanda and Brian Skotchdopole. Her great-grandchildren include Margaret Horne, John and Alyssa Gray, and Lauren Horne; and her great-niece and nephew, Courtney and Casey Balfour. Lola will also be dearly missed by her best friends, Adeline Harvey, Kamala Ingram and Dana Chavez, Alice Butler, and many more. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to one of the following organizations: The New Mexico Girls' or Boys' Ranches, The American Heart Association, or The American Diabetes Association. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez, Brother Boyd Morerod officiating.
