Obituary for TURRIETTA

Thomas G. Turrietta Sr., age 85, a lifelong resident of Pajarito, passed away at home, Friday, January 13, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. He served in the US Navy during WWII, and retired from the Railroad after 39 years. Thomas was the founding member of Ascension Catholic Church, and a twenty year member of the Pajarito Cemetery Committee. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rose Janet and grandson, Eric. Thomas is survived by his wife of 56 years, Rosalie Turrietta; daughters, Sister Charlotte Anne Turrietta ODN., Becky Reyes and husband, Belizario, Carmen Saavedra, Toni Turrietta and Mark Chavez; sons, Thomas Turrietta Jr. and wife, Lupe, Joseph Turrietta and wife, Lulu, Richard Turrietta and wife, Bonnie, 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Raught; special friend, Terri Hernandez of Mexico City and Theo Byrns of Las Vegas, NM; numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at Ascension Catholic Church, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW, with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005, with burial following at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his children, Sister Charlotte Anne Turrietta ODN., Tom Turrietta Jr., Joe Turrietta, Becky Reyes, Carmen Saavedra, Rick Turrietta, and Toni Turrietta. Honorary pallbearers will be, Adam Turrietta, Brian Woody, Tony Turrietta Jr., Christopher Turrietta, Joseph Turrietta Jr., and Ernie Saavedra Jr. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sisters of the Company of Mary, 16791 East Main St., Tustin, CA. 92780.
