Ernest R. Chavez, Jr. (aka Gooney) went to be with our Lord on January 14, 2005. He was 18 years old. He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Gutierrez; and father, Ernest R. Chavez Powerman. Mr. Chavez is also survived by his grandmothers, Mrs. Nora Gutierrez and Mrs. Maria R.O. Chavez; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins; and friends. He loved his girlfriend, "Bianca." Ernest is also survived by his pet dog, Harley. His interests were Cadillacs, theme parks, board/video games and spending time with his cousins who were like his brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. at Reflections Chapel, 2400 Washington St. NE. Rosary will be on Monday at 7:00 p.m., Mass at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday. Both at San Jose Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Gurule, Jerry Gutierrez, Joe Ray Sena, Carlos Hernandez, Andrew Gutierrez, and Ernest S. Alderete. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park at Edith and Menaul.
