Martin A. Small, Lt. Col., U.S. ARMY retired, died Sunday, January 2, 2005, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy L. Small of the family home; son, Walter Small of Albuquerque; grandsons, Bryan Small and Aaron Small of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Tessa M. Small and Amber Small of Albuquerque; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William D. Small. Martin was a longtime active member of Sandia Baptist Church. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Lt. Colonel after 22 years of service. Services will be held Friday, January 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution NE, with Dr. Bob Butler officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Bob Holt, Mac Rigdon, Gary Rogers, Bob May, Guy Gardner, and Jim Wier. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Porter and Chuck Holt. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, January 6, 2005 from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sandia Baptist Church Building Fund, 9429 Constitution NE, 87112 or to your favorite charity.
