Obituary for CHANEY

William Gail Chaney, 82, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home on December 29, 2004. He is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Patricia-ann; his sister, Edith Mollnow of Perry, NY, his son, Roy and his wife Jean of Oakland, CA; his son, Richard of Baker City, OR; his grandchildren, Kristin of Lynchburg, VA, and Lisa Ellis and his great-grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon, all of Beaverton, OR; his nieces, Gail Stewart of Kansas City, MO, Roberta Smith of Oakland, CA; his nephew, Doug Smith of Los Angles, CA; his stepson, Krist Peterson and his wife Garlene and their children, Kristine and Michael of Las Cruces, NM. His beloved wife of 42 years, Peggy, predeceased him in Albuquerque in 1986. Bill was a World War II veteran who served as an officer in the Army Signal Corps after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1943 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He had a long and distinguished career in the telecommunication industry. He enjoyed a lifetime of golf, woodworking, and photography and traveled extensively in his retirement. He was active in the Shriners and Christ United Methodist Church as well as a number of local volunteer organizations. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church at 6200 Gibson Blvd. SE.
