Hazel Luetta Wood, 90, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004 in a Galveston hospital following a brief illness. Hazel was born on January 31, 1914 in Capulin, NM to Jared and Lecta Toothman. She married James Wood December 24, 1931, and they had two daughters, Betty and Shirley. Hazel served the Lord and served as a role model for her family, living her life according to Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Hazel and James were long-time residents of Raton, NM, and Los Lunas, NM. Hazel recently moved to Kingwood, Texas to reside with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband James; a grandson, Doug Hord of Kingwood, TX; and a granddaughter, Kassi Crites of Midland, TX. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Marsh and her husband Vernon of Sandia Park, NM, and Betty Hord and her husband Bobby of Kingwood, TX; four grandchildren, Kay Crites of Midland, TX; Dale Marsh of Albuquerque, NM; Greg Hord of Kingwood, TX, and Jim Marsh of Denver, CO; and seven great-grandchildren, Sean Crites of Midland, TX, Tim and Codi Hord of Kingwood, TX, and Emerson, Rachel, Shannon, and Adam Marsh of Denver, CO. Services will be held Monday, January 3, 2005 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque, NM, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Raton, NM.
