Obituary for LANTZ

Ronald F. Lantz, age 67, passed away on December 11, 2004 following a short, but tough battle with pancreatic cancer. Ron was born to Marie and Oscar Lantz on March 24, 1937 in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Ron attended Miami of Ohio for two years. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Russian linguist. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Ron went on to graduate from University of Illinois, where he met his future wife, Fontaine. He was employed by United Airlines for 30 years. Ron and Fontaine moved from Mt. Prospect, IL to Belen, NM in 1996 to retire and pursue his passion for golf. Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years; Fontaine, two sons; James and Michael, their wives; Jolene and Kari, five grandchildren; Emma, Jade, Abigail, Samuel, and Maya; one brother; Thomas Mahoney, and many good friends, caring relatives and golfing buddies. Ron will always be remembered as the guy who always had a joke to tell and who could find a solution to any problem. He will be greatly missed and loved forever. Ron died in peace at his home in Belen, with his wife and two sons present. A memorial service in Chicago is planned for a later date. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
