Ralph Tarshes, 70, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1991, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2004. Ralph was born November 14, 1934 in Bronx, New York. He had served in the US Army during the Korean War. Ralph had worked 30 years for the British Airways and was also a professional photographer before retiring. Ralph was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Fred Berstein Post 203; the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; American Legion, Rio Rancho Post 118; the Italian-American Association of Rio Rancho; Jewish Men's Club of Rio Rancho; and the Del Norte Gun Club. His nickname for the Sandia Mountain was "Ralph's Rock". Ralph is survived by his cousin, Joan Beuchel of Scottsdale, AZ; his wife, Phyllis DeLouise of Rio Rancho; three childlren, Jeannie Fawley and husband William of Maryland, Ronald Epstein and wife Carol of Rio Rancho, and Robin Nootenboom and husband John (Andy) of Rio Rancho; six grandchildren; nephew, Keith Sirignano and wife Tanya of Rio Rancho; and his dog, Benji. A Graveside Service will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Jewish War Veterans section in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rabbi Min Kantrowitz. Military Honors will be presented by the New Mexico Honor Guard.
