Amarante V. Romero, 91, a recent resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Cora Romero; his children, Ruth Martinez and husband, Adrian of Las Cruces, NM; Rufina Tafoya and husband, Horacio of Taos, NM; Armando Romero and wife, Juanita of Albuquerque; Horacio Romero and wife, Annabell of Albuquerque; Delfina Rivera and husband, Tom of Denver, CO; Patsy Aragon of Albuquerque; Florence Vennen and husband, Jim of Denver, CO; Amarante E. Romero, Jr. and wife, Yolanda of Albuquerque; and Leonard Romero and wife, Cathy of Taos, NM; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phoebe, son-in-law, Richard and all his brothers and sisters. Mr. Romero was a lifelong member of Canon Brethren Church in Taos, NM. He was a veteran of the US Navy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Monday, December 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Gary Martinez, Everet Tafoya, Joshua Romero, Glen Romero, Paul Rivera, Richard Aragon, Erich Vennen, Matthew Romero and Michael Romero.
