Obituary for MULLEN

William (Bill) T. Mullen died November 14, 2004 after suffering a bicycle accident in Maui, Hawaii. Bill is survived by his wife, Mariko, of Albuquerque; son, Michael Mullen of Denver, CO; daughter, Amy Mullen of Seattle, WA; stepson, David Bloxham of Tacoma, WA; stepdaughter, Cesha Page of Meridian, ID; step-grandchildren, Ethan, Isaac, and Piper Page of Meridian, ID; brother, Robert Mullen of Sammamish, WA; sister, Marsha Lewis of Tigard, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was born in Portland, OR on December 15, 1944. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and remained a "Beaver Believer" all of his life. He worked briefly for the Boeing Co. before beginning his career with the US government working first for the Dept of Defense in the Pearl Harbor and Bremerton Shipyards, refueling Navy submarines and carriers. He also worked for nearly 20 years with the US Department of Energy in weapons related work at Hanford, INEL, Pantex, LANL, and finally at the Albuquerque Operations and Sandia Site Offices. Bill enjoyed all sports including baseball, basketball, football, running, bicycling, fishing, golf, and skiing. His enthusiasm for life was exceeded only by his love for his family, friends, and co-workers. A Memorial Service will be held at the Kirtland AFB Chapel on December 13, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Tigard, OR, at a yet to be determined date.
