Louise Morton Bangs, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, died Monday, December 6, 2004 of Alzheimer's-related illness at her Casa Palo Duro assisted living home. Family members were by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Cutler Bangs; a sister, Stella Morton Bisaccia; and a brother, George Ashmun Morton. She is survived by her four children: Patricia Chatfield Bangs of McLean, VA; Richard Johnston Bangs of Redmond, WA; Cynthia Wilson Bangs of Kailua-Kona, HI and Edward Russell Bangs of Albuquerque; a grandson, Walker Taylor Bangs of Redmond, WA; a sister, Elizabeth Morton Slauson of Hamden, CT; a brother-in-law, Will Johnston Bangs and sister-in-law Judy Lindahl Bangs of Carlisle, MA; and nieces and nephews. Louise was born in Hartford, CT on April 8, 1922. She was raised in Hamden, CT and graduated from Hamden High School in 1940 and the Sloan Business College in 1942. She was married to her husband of 55 years on May 22, 1943. She lived in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. for 25 years, where she raised her family. She and her husband moved to San Diego, CA in 1980 and relocated to Albuquerque in 1990. Louise had a beautiful smile, a twinkle in her eye, and loved the excitement of life. She will be dearly missed. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at Casa Palo Duro and Health Essentials, Inc. who cared for her in her last year. An outdoor memorial ceremony is planned at a private garden at 1:30 p.m. in Northeast Heights on December 11, 2004. For directions, call 275-4740.
