Obituary for FARLEY

Robert "Bob" Farley, born May 25, 1930, died December 6, 2004 in the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque following a long illness. He was preceeded in death by his birth parents, Charles and Sweetlyn Farley; foster parents, Oral and Geneviere Heckler; brother, Charles Farley; and most recently his son, Jeff Farley, who passed suddenly in September of this year. Bob Farley is survived by his wife, Arlene Farley; former wife and mother of his four children, Connie Farley; his son, Marc Farley; daughter, Anne Farley; son, Robert "Bo" Farley; 2 grandchildren, Spencer Farley and Aidan Farley Dunn, all of Albuquerque; his brother, George "Bud" Farley and his wife Jean Of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Bob Farley was a graduate of Cairo High School in 1948 and recieved his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in music education from University of New Mexico. He spent 4 years in the Navy where he graduated from the Navy School of Music. He has performed professionally with the New Mexico Brass ensemble, and served 3 years as the director of the University of New Mexico summer music festival. Bob Farley was active in music education in New Mexico as a teacher and committed his life to giving the gift of music to all children and youths. He was the owner of BOB FARLEY MUSIC Center which opened in 1968.
