Steven G. Merriken, age 52, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, November 29, 2004, after a long illness. He was born in Glendale, California and moved to Albuquerque as a child. Steven proudly served his country in the US. Army, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father and a niece. Steven is survived by his wife Annette; mother, Barbara Merriken; son, Kanaan Merriken and wife Kari; daughter, Aimee Cutshaw and husband Shaman; granddaughter, Elora Cutshaw; brother, Louis Merriken and wife Lettie; sisters, Allison Hooten, Kelly Combs and husband Shane; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Also surviving is his beloved calico cat, Little Girl. A viewing will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST. NW. on Monday, December 6, 2004 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30pm, with military honors.
